Just wondering if I can just replace the vacuum petcock on the CSR with a manual petcock, and if so would I just cap off the vac port that goes to the petcock? Thanks guys you are much help.

Yes, you can and yes, you do. I don't use my stock vacuum petcock anymore. Never could get it adjusted right even with a rebuild kit. More trouble than it's worth and when it's turned off I know no gas is getting through.

Just a suggestion... Do a search on Fleabay for a seller named Brown Family Racing. He's got good ones. Reasonably priced. Work great. Contact him directly and he'll fix you up with one exactly for your bike.

Thanks again atlarge, found the brown family racing guy on ebay and he had some specifically machined for the kz750 csr so I got that on order and will let you know how it works out when I get it and hook it all up.

Manual fuel valve.
If the bolt hole spacing is 34mm & I'm pretty sure it is on the CSR:

One more question. When i get the knew petcock do I just cap the vac tube on the petcock and the vac line going to the petcock and leave the two vac lines hooked to the carbs? Or do I cap all the vac lines up? I'm assuming the first, but just want to make sure.

With the new petcock installed, remove the vacuum hose that's no longer needed, and cap/plug the vacuum nipple where the hose was removed.

All the vacuum nipples should now be capped/plugged.

Leave the two vent hoses alone. They must exit to open air, usually through hoses routed to underneath the seat or routed to underneath the bike.

Good Fortune! :)

So I should take the hose vac hose off the two carb nipples and the petcock nipple as well? Just want to make sure I understand you correctly. Then cap all three?

I wouldn't. Either take the petcock vacuum hose, plug it and leave it dangle or take the line with the tee out and replce it with one solid piece from the carb to canister that is in the top of the air cleaner.

I converted mine from vacuum to manual. A thread here details it.
Haven't had any problems with it. doesn't leak and cost was...less than a couple of bucks and wait time was overnight. I plugged the unneeded vacuum line with the same two part epoxy I used internally.

edit: gas tank designed two part epoxy ;)
