 Is such an "oil drain valve" currently available that's a direct replacement for the stock drain screw?

So how do you get the filter out? Many exhausts still have to come off. Maybe some people don't change their filter with every oil change. Very small expense for the benefit of the engine's longevity.

First I remove the bolt holding the filter and filter seal... then I pull the assembly with the filter... then replace the filter and reinstall the bolt and filter seal flange....
Filter area has more than enough clearance... at least w my setup.

Me too, its only held shut by a spring, a stone, stick or any other road debris could cause that to leak and throw you down the road.

I have one on my KZ1000.... probably running 20 years with it now.
And it looks nothing like that turd brass contraption.
A sliding disc with O rings to seal and a snap clip to hold it shut.

You have it easy changing the oil, mine I have tor remove the entire exhaust system every time I change my oil. The Kerker sits so tight against the oil pan I have about 1/4" clearance between the header collector and the oil drain / oil filter plugs. I have gotten really good and fast at removing the exhaust though and I keep a bunch of exhaust gaskets on hand.
