I should add for a KZ1000 to be an 1170 cc, the cylinder casting must have been bored with new iron or steel sleeves pressed into the block, and the top crankcase would have to be bored out for the larger sleeves also.

I'm always highly sceptical about what the 'guy the previous owner bough it from ' said about it.

Even if youdo know precisely the spec of your motor, it is unlikely you will just look up the carb settings and get it right first time, expect some trial and error.
