Thank you for your vote of support Mr Hommes appreciate it.
Yes, as the thing starts to come together, I will be posting what I have bought and the build - the build will NOT start until I know I have all the bits I need to do it in one shot though - and since I will be flying to UK next June where I will be picking up a lot of stuff, it won't be until after then, hey?

Cheers

Wayne, this is a first is it? has no-one ever tried a 6 speed z1000 mk2 before?

Love it when you just shut your ears to conventional wisdom and are totally single minded about what you want to do - excellent!

No scrounging free gear shafts or asking for legacies on your will, but if you happen to find an original z1000R seat in your hand luggage then sell it to me £££ !

Thanks 'Tyrell Corp' - it is something I have wanted to try for a long time but I do not know of anyone who has tried it to get any ideas back.
Guinea pig time!!!!
Tell you what, when I go to UK, I will be trying to catch up with a guy over there who I bought some Kalgard stickers off for the fork legs like on Lawsons bike, and he really has a lottttt of stuff and used to import stuff from the States and sounds like he has many contacts on our series of bikes including the KLR ( is this what the z1000R seat is, we didn't get a Z1000r in australia that I am aware of-Aust is a TINY market next to everyone else!!! ).
The only problem I have is we have to talk through Ebay messages all the time, because even though he knows a lot about bikes ( he even has S1 books & stuff he directly got off Mr Muzzy's head mechanic back in the 90's ) he doesn't know how to send me his private email address through Ebay - Ebay blocks email addresses as you know but you can get around it if you are prepared to stuff around - so getting messages from him is a long drawn out affair.
Next time I write to him ( and that will be very soon because I bought the stickers nearly 3 months ago and he hasn't posted them yet ) I will pose your question to him mate, and we will see how far we get, OK? :)

Good little dodge on ebay for posting email addresses through a pm: write it on a piece of paper, photograph it and send it as a pic.

What a nifty idea - shall try that next time myself and also pass that onto the guy in UK - so simple why didn't I think of that - because I am old and feeble minded perhaps...LOL!!!

Thanks for that mate!!!

G'day 'tyrell corp' ( do you have a name I can use, mate??)

As far as the seat, have you tried japan webike - have a lot of stuff there, and I have spent some $$$$ getting stuff there, well worth the look. It is in english ( a bit japanese english sometimes, but still very understandable ) and have some great stuff - I have bought 2 S1 type exhausts, racing baffles and Kerker name plates and if you spend enough, free shipping!!! And they are FAST post, very good site to deal with.
Have a look - try this page first and then go looking yourself...

G'day mate

This was my last correspondence with Nova back on 18th October 2014. Have heard nothing since. I suppose I should get back to him to see if he has had any reaction to him putting it on his Facebook page.
I hope someone reads his Facebook - if there are plenty of people out there like me who thinks Facebook is a load of rubbish and wouldn't be bothered with it, it probably went no where with that and I cannot see the KZ mentioned on his list of models on his website either....

www.novaracing.co.uk/ManufacturerKawasaki.html

Hi Wayne

We will put the project on our website and our facebook page to see if there is any reaction.

Kind Regards

Mick Dearlove
Nova Racing Transmissions Ltd

So I am thinking that it has gone no where, 'mtbspeedfreak'

Pity - 'cause I am still interested - I would buy at least 2 if I can find other mad bastards like me to take the total to 5 so Mick would make them.

I want one for my 1100 (shaft-drive). I'll volunteer my ride as a field-tester, only after the bugs have all been worked out and the system is guaranteed to work perfectly, of course...and I can keep it (free-of-charge) when done.
