like the title says original with great headers, and original race baffle still intact what would something like this be worth?
1978 kz650 sr- long time project/first bike mostly gone
1979 kz659 sr- new acquisition NEXT project GONE

Both 650s combined to make one great bike! with a new powerplant

it is a 79 frame, 78 front end, both 78 wheels and brakes, 78 body work and a 80' 750-4 motor with gpz 750 cams and a kerker and...

No such thing as "original" for those bikes. All KZ650 and KZ750 (including GpZ) models came with 4>2 pipes. Kerker would be aftermarket not original.

that's kinda why I wondered what it said on it. my 550 has an emblem that says kawasaki by kerker, which i believe was a dealer installed item. does that sound right 650ed?

It may have been an add on, but some bikes came with these, as mentioned.
I was lucky to come across one, beautiful, but I sold it.

Nice looking pipe; probably was a dealer install. The Kawasaki.com parts diagrams show dual pipes for all 550, 650, and 750 Z models. The pipe in your picture looks like a slip-on where it joins to the header; was it welded or clamped to the header pipe? Ed

That particular one was never installed. It was brand new with a few handling smudges. I don't remember where I got it.

I ran across one or two on bikes that came with them, but I think they were dealer add ons, as mentioned. Like you said, the parts diagrams show duals.

the one you have there looks almost exactly like the one on my 550, and I love it. Probably the best looking and sounding pipe for a 550-750 in my opinion

Yeah, a friend of mine had the black version of that muffler on his gpz and it sounded mean, but not real loud. I agree, it had one of the best throaty sounds I've heard. The aluminum canister ones are a close second, if not equal.
