No kicker to kicker?

Might be a pretty dumb question,but.....
I have an 81 650 with no kicker. Would love to get rid of that stupid battery. Are there any other models of same or compatible years with a kicker that would be an easy install or is this just the dumbest question you've ever heard?

But you have button to button.

You will still need the battery to maintain a smooth constant voltage to your electronics/ignition/lighting, etc.

It is complicated, but doable - to have a no battery system. But it consists of installing a large capacitor and new wiring and such.

That bike doesnt even have the kicker internal gear on the clutch right??? nor the other gearing and kicker sprocket?? That would be a huge pain to fab!

Good luck.

Don't know much about going battery-less, but installing a kickstart can be done, whether it can be done easily or not depends on your definition of easy - in order to install the kickstart shaft and the stopper plate you need to split the cases, no way around that.

You will need the parts pictured below (stopper plate included) as well as a kickstart model clutch cover and the kickstarter itself.

As usual OnkelB has it right.
I just recently sold a 750 four motor that had been swapped over to a kickstarter. Only one I've ever actually seen.

heres a pic of what im working with, well just the outside of it. it looks like the place where the kicker would be is just covered up. by splitting the cases, do you mean taking the cover off... or taking my whole engine out of the frame and completely taking the bottom end apart?
