I am looking to install an oil pressure gauge on my kz650 and was wondering what range to get. I have seen the 15 psi ranges for the 900's but I wanted to make sure it would work for my 650 before I got it.

Also, any ideas on which one to get in the 2" range?
Thanks

Get one that goes to at least 50 psi, and 60 would be better, it would break that 15 psi gauge since normal pressure is at least 30 when warmed up and driving down the road.

The Kawasaki Factory Service Manual shows normal 194 degree F oil pressure at 4000 RPM = 28-36 psi, but then at 5000 RPM and above the pressure jumps to 63 - 85 psi. The relief valve is intended to keep the pressure at or below 85psi (6.0 kg/cm2). The book says if the oil prssure is much lower than 63psi at more than 5000RPM, the relief valve may be stuck open or there may be some other damage in the lubrication system. The test gage shown in the book goes up to 10 kg/cm2 (142psi) but I would think a gage that went to 100 psi should be ok. Ed

Thanks for the info. Now I need to find a different gauge to fit into my new dash area. Any suggestions on gauges that have a cup or cover on the back side?
