, 1100R sidecovers and ducktail emblems from Webike.

For the purists that have other opinions of this bike, please note it was built from spares I had in my back shed, everything modified was either hand made (I don't have special laths or milling machines) or bought cheaply (budget). I also played around with the painting myself (I never spray painted before).

The pipe is Marving, the headers are for the GPZ1100 '81 and the tail is a street Z1R so on the GPZ it angles up more than normal. It is very quiet and does rob some power compared to the racing pipe (which looks different but goes like stinks- see my Z1R). I might at a later stage fit the racing pipe (which by the way is not that loud). I've had plenty of pipes in my time but the Marving has to be the best (my FJ1200 also has the enduro pipe).
The Frankinbike as a mixture of the following -
GPZ1100 '81 engine, had only 80kms when the bike was written off (although the engine number is referenced to '83 - go figure).
The engine was minus head so a fitted a Z1000J head, I ported it and the valves were new. I honestly don't remember how/when I got this head but it is like new. Cams fitted are from a GPZ1100 83 model, Its not that wild as the pistons are totally standard "81. Time will tell.
Lights are LED - Chinese but my budget dictates what I have.
I rewired a new loom myself.
Front brake master cylinder is from a GTR1400 shafty, it is a radial and the brakes are excellent considering the standard calipers.
The switch blocks are cheap Chinese.
Carbies are ZRX1200, with Dyna jet - same as my Z1R
Frame (Z1000J) is modified to mono shock GPZ900/750?
Front end is mixture of GPZ900R and GPZ1100'81.
Wheels are from a Honda CBR1000F 2006 (nice and wide), I got these dirt cheap with tyres (like new). Front bearings were changed with a smaller diameter inner to suit GPZ900R axle, there is no speedo drive as the speedo is a speedhut GPS with fuel gauge.
Gauges are from a GPZ1100 '83.
Paint colour is a Empire Bronze 401A, 2 pack

Nice mix and match of parts there mate, I really like what you've done with the gauges, they look right at home on that bike. Apart from the speedo, was there much converting with the wiring..? What harness did you use..?

The loom was tailor made, as you can see in the picture, I used heavy wires to relays (coils, horn etc). The front LED uses little power so general switching was used. Since I work in electronics it didn't take me long to set this up. Some switching that Kawasaki uses was the reverse of what I thought it would be for the idiot lights so I had the use low current relays ( second picture shows small relays)

After seeing your posts and another with a re-motored 82 750 ELR replica, I'm now working on leads to gather the raw material to build one myself - 83 GPz1100 Engine, 82 GPz750 Chassis.
