Yesss! Paint went on nicely. Heater in the garage, warm the paint and warm the parts is the key to good rattle jobs I reckon. I used Duplicolor engine enamel low gloss black and primer.
How much more black can you get? The answer is none. None more black.

I got my seat back from the upholsterers today. I'm not totally satisfied with it considering I paid top dollar for the work, $320 was more than I expected to pay and I'm giving the job about a 7 out of 10. I gave them a detailed drawing of what I wanted and the have tried to follow that I just don't think it's turned out as good as as l hoped. I did tell them that I think a beautiful seat is like the icing on a cake for a custom bike so they new I had high expectations. I supplied the leather so that's not an issue and we agreed to do the raw seams that way as the leather is too thick to fold and back stitch. I think I could probably accept the less than perfect craftsmanship it the shape was as I wanted. It's just a bit to wide at the front on the bottom. Any thoughts or opinions out there in KZ land?

i'm thinking i would remove the cover and reshape the foam exactly as you want it and then re-attach the cover trying to keep everything as proportionate as possible from side to side.

Well Leon, that's exactly what I ended up doing. I took it back to the upholstery place, the guy that did the work was away for a few weeks, so they ended up refunding ALL $320. So I got it back peeled the leather back and reshaped the foam. Then I used shoe polish and made it black. I still didn't get the result I wanted but looks ok for that price!

Not a very clear photo, that last one but the seat looks much more better in black.(Not a fan of brown bike seats). A good decision to push a bit further with something you werent totally happy with. Makes all the difference.

On another note,Why didnt you pull out the starter motor when you sprayed the engine?

Yeah that's the 'check out my sweet curves' shot, not really a detailed shot of the seat. Yeah the brown leather really only works with a silver or clear coated tank IMO. Black looks better with my paint scheme.
Starter motor stayed put because I wanted it black too and didn't see the point in removing it, painting it and putting it back. Time is money brother! It looks fine, you'd be hard pressed to spot any areas that got missed with my rattle cans.

I haven't posted for a while but I have been busy with the bike. She's been coming together nicely and is 99.9% finished.
