Things being what they are, you might at least consider the following advice about the engine. At least you can save face if it runs strong. If it's just a warmed over stocker with pistons and carbs it will only add insult to the already obvious injury

The RS36 carburetors will work on your engine but they are not optimal for it because you stopped short. You really need to take the motor to a higher level to take full advantage of them. First thing to go should be the piddly stock cams. At least find some late GPz11 cams for it.

Put GPz 38mm intake valves in it. Open the throats up to 34.2mm and open up the bowls to at least 34mm. Check the valve guides to make sure none of them are sinking on you.

That work won't turn it into a fire breather but it will at least wake it up a bit....

I will take into consideration your input on the cams and porting. I have in addition to boring the engine to 1075cc also ported the in- and outtakes. Dunno any exact dimensions on the porting of the in and outtakes though... I am still waiting to get my engine back from the shop. I am excited to see how it runs when I get everything put together.

Not upset, just puzzled. You probably could have sold it bone stock for a nice profit and started with something rough that needed modifying. I hope it all works out good. You're work looks pretty good.

A few years back I watched a bunch of yahoos on here talk a guy into hacking up a bike that never got finished. By the time it was done being hacked, it was a complete abortion that wouldn't have been safe to ride. Things like that irritate me....I just shake my head an mumble "F'n Kids"

You were on "hiatus" when this guy was brutally berated for hacking up this bike. He did not realize its value then and has been made aware of it several times. What is done is done. No the guy just wants the bike to resemble the design he has in his head. That is why the topic is titled part 2. Just thought you might like a little background on the situation.

I like the look of it so far, congrats on your determination. It's your bike, build it as you like.....Keep up the good work, and posts.

I had an Acewell like that. Make sure you get the bike outside in the sunlight before you carve the bracket mount in stone. Sit on the bike and make sure you can read the gauge in direct sunlight. They can be a bitch to see from certain angles..

One more suggestion. FWIW

If you put some modern wheels on it, 17" on both ends, that you can mount some wider rubber on, you will not regret it. The difference is night and day in cornering with confidence....

I appreciate the constructive input and will look at the possibility of putting on some wider rubbers like you mentioned in another post. This will have to come in a second stage, as I am prioritizing on having the bike ready for spring time.
