Your petcock has a reserve, off, and on. Reserve will run your fuel out completely. Off is what you want to leave it on until you have to switch it on (when you start the bike) You can leave it in the on position most times and it will be fine but it can flood your carbs if your needles get messed up.

I know that putting it in the middle position is prime. I just don't know what the up and down positions are. I know it runs when I point the handle up. I can no longer read what's on the petcock.

Update: I think I solved my hard start. #2 wasn't sparking and upon inspection the brand new plug was damaged. Put the old plug in and it fired right up and #2 fired great. I now need to get the carbs synced. I may just buy new carbs. Someone locally has freshly rebuilt, super sonic cleaned carbs with extra jets.
I can't leave this blank.

Nice looking bike. Your petcock is operated by a vacumn signal taken from carbureter #2. The handle pointed down is the normal run mode. The handle pointed up is reserve. Prime is when the handles faces forward, it bypasses the vacumn and allows fuel to flow. So run with the handle pointed down. When the bike starts vacumn opens up the petcock allowing fuel to flow.

I've run into a new issue. When I got the bike it did not have a key (it is titled) and the tumbler was broken so anything could be used to turn it. The tumbler finally gave way and stopped working. Now I'm hot wiring the bike by connecting the brown and white wires on the tumbler. Since doing this cylinder 1 usually is the only one to fire. When I tinker with it enough it will run on just 1&4, even when swapping coils.

In short, what's the best way to hotwire the bike? Since my way doesn't seem to work. Also, I need to make sure my clutch safety switch is bypassed, I'm unable to find where the wires that were on the handle went to.

I didn't think they'd be that cheap! What about my clutch safety switch? How can I be %100 sure it's bypassed?

With the ignition on, if the electric starter tries to start the engine when you push the starter button without pulling in the clutch lever, the lockout is missing. Ed

I'm still waiting on my ignition switch to show up but I do have a question about something. I noticed that when I would turn the key on both coils would fire together at the same time. It still does this with the hotwire. It will ignite any fuel on top of the pistons and sometimes send a fireball out of the exhaust. Is this normal?

No. Something is wired up wrong. Each coil is controlled by its own set of points and those cannot open at the same moment. Ed
