My opinion is your new design will look much better. I think it will fit better with all the other superb work you have doe. Not that what you made is bad,just that your new design looks better IMHO!

I like the new one! I would recommend making it from a thick piece of metal, at least 12-20mm. Not for strength or anything, just looks

04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition,headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

Yepp...I agree, the new design will make the engine look more as a unit.

12-20 mm ??? Thats thick...I will go for 6 mm. But it would be cool to cut it out in 20 mm and then mill down the center parts of it and keep the 20 mm as a frame.

Will probably cut it tomorrow so hang around for some pics soon !

The new design is looking very cool Arnold. If I remember right the first one was laser cut out of 6 mm stainless? Can you do 20 mm in stainless and them mill it? I like your idea to leave a raised edge and/or ribs by milling stuff out.

Noep...we only have up to 8 mm at work. And I never buy steel :P
The laser will cut up to 12 mm...but at my former job we cut 320 mm thick plate with gas cutting machines ! Cool stuff :woohoo:

The problem is that they take different stators

So...I just have to make an adapter for my stator. Yeah..wrong pic I know !

Turn some steel





Weld some bolts. Used JB Weld to glue it to the cover. 100% sure this will hold up.





And the plan is of couse to get my stator in there and hope the rotor wont hit the cover





Yeah...if you dont have any problems why dont create some !? :whistle:

Yet another way to pull your rotor off:

1. Pull out your rear axle and screw it in to the rotor
2. Take the "hammer part" from your impact hammer and mount it on the axle.
3. Add some heat...some good heat for 5 minutes
4. Start hammering
5. Tighten the axle into the rotor some more
6. Hammer some more...
7. Tighten the axle some more..
8. One more whack and the rotor is yours ! :woohoo:

Yepp...got the cylinder head done today. Ground in the valves, cleaned up all the parts and got it all assembled.
