How about reshaping the seat, or just cutting yours down.

That looks good Leon! I am leaning toward cutting my extra tail and keeping the seat pan and tail separate, and having the tail bolt on in a "similar" fashion to stock. We'll see what I can come up with this weekend.....

So, I only got to do a little this weekend. I got the front disc spacers cut and ran out of time.

So I had my surgery today. Laid up for a few weeks with no working on the bike. So no updates probable...just more dreaming and thinking time....

Even though it may look like this project will not be ready to ride by May due to $$$$ situation in the household, I will continue to do what I can that doesn't cost me much money to at least keep this moving along..... My new Beasley Composites tail showed up.....very sexy. Can't wait to mock it up.

That is it for now......

Well I am waiting on the rest of my parts to show, but also will have another trick addition to the bike. Inverted levers and remote mounted masters for the clutch and front brakes under the tank that are cable operated. Cables will be hidden leaving only the grips and switch housings visible.

Will post pics when they arrive.

Sound interesting....definitely post some pics. The front master cylinder on the '78 Z1-R (maybe '80 too?) is also cable actuated. That was the first time I had seen one like that. By "inverted" levers, do you mean the pivot point will be at the outside edge of the handlebar?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationYes like this:

These are chromed versions that someone is selling of what i bought. They are off of an old BMW R71 replica from China called the CJ750. I bought the CJ750 versions which were only $32 shipped. They will need some finishing, nicer hardware, etc... The issue with them though are that they are designed to fit a 1" bar, not a 7/8" bar. So I will need to make short T6061 aluminum collars that will press on and pin on the end of my clip ons that will be just long enough internally to allow the lever to seat. Small fab work, but easily doable.
