I got the battery box made, Styrofoam battery is done, underseat wiring compartment and shortened the seat/tail assembly a bit. I think I am ready to strip it all down now.

You are correct to be wary of these motors, they are reeeeeally heavy....but check Arnold's 2.0 build, he tells how he put the motor on its side and then lowered the frame onto the motor. He had just painted the frame too and not a scratch on it, a few others have also done this. Sounds like a very good and safe idea. :) Liking the build so far man.

I have done the motors both ways and much prefer the lay down method but it only works if you are removing front and rear ends I think. Actually thats how I got the motor out but then I had to get it on my little cart :( USED to be able to lift them  Maybe I am just smarter now!

I have been looking for some different pegs to put on my stock brackets. The main reason I wanted narrower pegs is so I can still use my kick starter with the ghetto rear sets. They did not require much modification but I may cut the mount and twist the peg closer to the proper place.

Got a little bike time in today. Too much snow and mud to ride. I got the ends caped where I hacked the sub frame off. No pipe bender so I copied this idea that I seen done on the forum. Worked out okay. Some grinfing and filling yet to do.

that is the reason i like metal so much.

the grinder takes away.
and,
the welder replaces.

a lil time and patience and no one will be able to tell that it didn't come from the factory that way.

Have not had much time lately but did get the frame pretty much done. Figure I better post something before it ends up in a DOA thread :woohoo: Need to finish cleaning up the motor so I can free up some space to rebuild fork, calipers and what not.
