1985 ZL900 Eliminator was created by Flatironmike
here for your perusal, i humbly present my bone-stock, year-one 1985 Kawasaki ZL900 Eliminator - purchased off the showroom floor in New Haven, CT way back in '86. the sales brochure boasted the Eliminator as 'the fastest production motorcycle' for 1985. 0-60 in 2.1 clicks, tame by today's machines. dubbed the 'black missile of death,' this water cooled, shaft driven Ninja 900cc motor has served me well for nearly two and a half decades. after a much deserved and over due carb cleaning, it's as ferocious as ever. H-Ds are neat, but Kaws are the real thing. you can keep yer Vmaxs, FXRs and Dynas.

enjoy, or don't

I knew a girl that rode one of those back in the day. It was a bad motor scooter back then and is certainly no slouch still. The fact that she only weighed about 100 lbs. I think may have lowered that 0-60 time a bit...lol

The Eliminator is a nice bike, but a 1985 VMax will whip it in a head to head drag race. I believe the first stock Kawi to best the 'Max in the 1320 was the ZX11.

I think the V-Max may be the ugliest bike ever made. The Eliminator was no beauty queen either.

Impresssive performance bikes though.

there was one with F-1 brand aluminum slip ons at a shop i worked at,tradded in,i got to ride it to do a parts run once....i was in love right away and always am thinking one will find it's way to me one day....they are cool...even today...the guys at the drawing board got it right and it still shows....

the 900 in red was too pretty the 1000 later lost some cuts imo....

Oh man, A-MEN to that!!! Eliminators are very, very good looking...I'd take one ANYDAY! Glad to see you kept the stock motor knee-bumpers...owners seem to remove them and throw them away...for whatever weird reason. Nice lookin' bike...the ZL1000 just wasn't the same bike, didn't have the "stock drag bike" look as mentioned above.

Great ride man!
