Thanks!

I got some more done, almost there....

The tires showed up at my office Friday around 4:00pm so I mounted them. The front is a 100/90 which is what I thought I read is the equivalent to stock, well, let's just say it's a tight fit. The rear is a 120/90 and was no problem.

I totally forgot about all the small parts that make up the rear brake linkage so I blasted and plated those today along with footrest and seat hardware. The original seat had a tear along the seam so I picked up an assortment of needles and some black upholstery thread...then gave it to my wife to fix. lol She had fun and I'm glad she did it because it came out great! I just painted the pan.

The header came out nice with high temp grill paint. I had it for an MX pipe so I hope it holds up.

The bike pretty much started right up. Sounds friggin Bad Ass with just the header. I have shocks and a new chain ordered, so once they arrive it will be done.

Besides that, I just need to install the brakes and a couple minor details. Still need to set the carbs up too but I don't have a vacuum guage set just yet.

You did your Dad's bike proud. I know your old man would be happy with that. Excellent work! I think that the blue Z1B is my favorite factory paint job.

Thanks alot guys.

I know the blue is not the 'correct' color, but I think it still looks like it could have come that way in 75. Using the metallic blue and a regular gloss black is a nice contrast. Makes the black look more like a stripe over the blue. And you can't beat that 2-part clear for $18.

there are folks on here that know the price of almost most z-1's that sell in the u.s...no joke

i would guess that you could set it at 4500 and not sell it right away...it is worth more because it was your dads and i hope your only asking for an idea of worth,,,but because it was his and it is now yours..it is worth 7500 -10,000 minimum...ride it for year and you will have feel for why many regard it as the ultimate street bike...it is more comfortable than 90% of the bikes today and is more ladden in history than half of them combined...
and was modfied to win a tile in just about every class of street compitition and some not street.....it has more titles and wins to it's lineage than probably any bike ever made in the 70's and it still can be made into a fir breathing street rod for under 4000 in parts...imo...

if you put it on e-bay with ano reserve -highest bidder wins..i would guess it may go 4500..imo

lol! Yeah, wrong thread, but that's alright. No, my Z1 is not for sale, and never will be. I was just curious about the price due to the level of restoration.

Thanks alot!

I rode it for the first time yesterday, still has that power I remember. It surges a little coming down to idle, but I haven't sync'd the carbs yet. The only things left to install are the levers, shocks, brake pads and top clamp bolt. The shocks arrived today but they're the wrong ones. I got them from Niche Cycle in FL. I just can't decide whether I like them or not.

Well, the bike is pretty much complete. But I'm STILL waiting for the replacement shocks.

The good news is, I got her registered last night so I'll be riding her home tonight.
