It was not the seat that threw me but the Mags and rear disk brake. This may be a cobled up bike from many different models.

Looking at the front forks and the positioning of the brake clippers, would make tis a earlier bike. So if in fact it is a 74 due to the sidecover emblems I would still retro it. It would still be worth 3-4x in original condition than it was worth new, and 8x of what it is worth now.

Ill get more pics up soon for all yall. Im not really sure what all is goin on with it.

From what hes told me and what ive seen:

Its cammed out
After Market 4-1 exhaust(no name on the pipes, i belive he had a machine shop make them when he was in california)
Wheels and breaks off of an 80's LTD, he did this cause he said the stock breaks were horrible.
He said that there was some mild mods on the frame.

Im sure he has done a bit more to the engine. He rebuilt it about 15 years ago and he does have a knack to go all out with only the best. He told me that he had to put higher gears on it because it had to much power and would pull wheelies.

Hope this helps a few of yall out.

Anyways, an update. Put on a new Battery, changed the oil, put the carbs on, and guess what she started right up.

Did run into a snag though, both of my fuel pipe joints are old and leaking horribly. Goin to order them next friday, then take apart the carbs see if he has oversized jets in them. Then put it all back on and let it run a little bit see if i need to get any gasketts or anything.

Hey there cool bike. Nothing that some elbow greese, a nice fine scotchbrite pad and some steele wool should not be able to fix. The chain looks like it could use a little attention, but it could be saved with some TLC.
I like the fact that you are keeping it in the family, maybe you will pass it on to you son someday.

I would swap out the straight bars for a set of superbike or bars with a little more stylistic flair, not buck horns though....that would be cheesy.:woohoo:

What a great winter project!!!! Wish I had one.

the finned covers are cool, too bad you don't have the rest of them for the other side and starter.

hye every sorry i havent been on in a bit. works been keepin me real busy.

The frint and back brakes were locked up. Ive finnaly got the back brakes all cleaned up and i hope it will work now. I got new spitfire tires for it. as soon as i find the time to put the new tires on ill put the brakes and everything back on it.

Only brakes and tires stand in the way of this beast being road worthy. Its taken longer than i thought it would to get everything back together so im thinking next winter is goin to be the paint job, this way i have a bike to ride this spring/summer
