The pictures reinforce my opinion that anyone buying spray paint should be required to pass a psychiatric test first. He sprayed everything including the reflectors! I’m sure the bike will thank you when you finish cleaning and refreshing it. Be sure to change the oil (it may be as dirty as the bike) before you try to start it, and put some fresh oil on the cams and cam bearings if it's been sitting a long time. I'd also clean the tank and carbs and put on an inline fuel filter so you don't suck gunk into the carbs once they're clean. Good luck with your project, these bikes are pretty tough so you should be ok. Ed

Yeah i did not like the fat they spray bombed the entire bike. I will admit that i will do the tank and tins myself. but would make it look more professional than that. That is all great info that i will surely use before i attempt to start the bike.

You can't go wrong with a 650 Custom. Clean the carbs, adjust and clean the points, lube the advance cam, adjust the cam chain and it will start. Always have faith in a 650 Kaw!

When my brother bought the 76 900LTD it had been fully painted about 5 times but not with a rattlecan. It was painted with a paint brush. Had bristles still stuck in the paint.
Couldn't tell today.. ;) GLuck!

Thanks.
Today was a sunny day, no rain so i went out to do as much work as i could.

Put on the header/exhaust

Can anyone tell me where to attach the exhaust too, im guessing maybe this exhaust isnt for my bike.

Took out the carbs, and airbox

Last picture, for this hose thats connected to the airbox, if i do pod filters would i have to get this hose its own pod filter too? Also this random metal piece i found inside my battery box. what is it?

I have the same situation with my 80' 650E1 project. The 4 to 1 isn't stock, so there's no tab or bracket to attach it to. I actually blew mine off the header when i was first getting the bike going. haha. my plan is to learn how to weld to i can make a tab for it. or you can get the orginal 2 - 1 for each side.

Looks like a bearing spacer for your (or an extra) back wheel.

Yes, or a tube to vent it back and away from the rear tire.

I don't recognize the metal piece. Is it a tube? Got another picture of it from a different angle?

Attach the exhaust to the rear foot peg mount with a metal bracket.
