When I first got this about a year ago it had been sitting under a tree with a tarp over it in pieces for about 7 years. Its a 1976 KZ900 with about 20,000 miles on it.

This is what it looked like the day I got it.

After much cleanup and removing that big bumper. Also much tuning and other normal problems. Getting the fairing back on and all the lights rewired. This is how I rode it for most of 08.
I did ultimatly have to rebuild the top end. The only thing it really has going for it is all those chips and scratches are in original paint.

Since it's nothing but snow outside now is the time to paint it. I'm going to keep the fairing and bags as I've gotten so used to have all that space. There will be a bit of a color change though.
Here is the bare nekid bike

Tria, I usually go from the inside out on my projects. I'm pretty happy with the way it runs and handles. Made a big difference going to new dunlops. I would like to sometime find the dual disc kit for the front end. I might put alloys on it when I do that. For now it starts fine in the shop at about 35 degrees. I'm afraid 120 is all I have had the bonos for so far, but it will go 120 right now.

after 2 coats of Nason nonsanding epoxy primer. note the gloss finish on the primer. If I do this again I will wait a day and wet sand this stuff as I picked up alot of dust in the primer coat. not a big problem but it is one.
