I ran across this bike for sale. Any thoughts on this model bike, its price, what to look for and ask? Also, how much would the parts interchange for the 1980 kz750four that my son is working on? Thanks!

If it runs and has a clear title $300 is a song. Although you could always dwell on some of the cosmetics and try to get it cheaper. I'd have the guy start it for you if you go to look at it. A test ride is even better if you can swing it. If it's been sitting awhile a carb rebuild, valve clearances, chain replacement, tires, going through the brakes, and general freshening up will be needed. Could use those things as bargaining points too if you don't want to shell out 3 bills for it. I'd grab it up for that though, even if it wouldn't start.

Thanks anarki, But I wasn't quick enough, as it had just been sold when I called on it a few minutes ago. I thought that in the middle of the winter in Alaska no one else would be interested in it but I was wrong.

Don't give up now! The KZ650s are hard to beat. I got mine in 1994, and I've bought and sold several bikes since. I'll never be without a 650 Kaw.
