Hi everyone, I bought this '81 in '86 as a young guy that couldn't afford a ninja... bought up everything I could afford to tweak it back in the 80's when it was still pretty easy to get:

DynaJet carb kits
DynaS Ignition
Mac header that I have "MotoGP'd"
Stainless brake lines
Clubman bar
Straight velocity stacks
Progressive works front springs
Aluminum fly screen --- me and my tin snips
Custom rearsets --- not as hard as they look. Grab an Enco lathe and a bridgeport!
Drilled rear brake drum
10 coats silver laquer... un rubbed for a satin look

I still have the old girl and have updated my stable with a ZX7-R... but this bike is still my favorite. Nice and forgiving and gets more looks than the zx7!

Great site! Bob

Nice job on the bike, really looks sharp.

Love the rearsets, nice work. You need to do a write-up on how you made those :)

very nice indeed...

I'm looking at the gear shift mechanism (rear set)and I'm still somewhat baffled on it's operation due to contact on both ends. Or is the picture deceiving me...Awesome!

Is it custom?

OMR I think your eyes are tricking you. I had to look twice as well. Look again and you'll see two pieces, one lever for your foot to click and then the back piece that connects the old shifter to the rear of the new shifter. The way the pic is taken it looks as if its on piece.

Ahhhh... In closure review I believe your correct... That rear set is space aged, I like it!

Need more images of this rear set, what it is custom or available...
