The only problem is that none of the little shops around here want to put the tire on in fear of scratching the powdercoating(Same reason I'me not doing it myself either). l:

That's one of the reasons why I like using truck bedliner (can be had in rattle cans) on wheels. Not only is it durable but it is easy to fix any chips etc.

Jordan,
This is a very nice piece of work. Just a quick question: with your skills, have you considered addressing the front end with something more late model? Just wondering. Again, nice work.

PS> Could you post some more detailed pics of your top rear shock mount? Thanks.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Now that you mounted the gixxer swingarm and wheel, you REALLY need a comparable front end.

Looks like a great project though. Good luck

Yeah,
It's clear that the kid has some substantial skills; picking up a complete front end would be his simplest route. Press one stem out and his stocker in...wah-lah...that'd be a 'nuthing' deal for this guy...and, as you noted, it would round his bike out real nice.

More pictures will soon be on their way, but just for an update, I got it started today. Although far from moving I was just glad to hear it run. Finally got the dyna standalone system wired up, and wired up the starter to a push button switch. With the ignition set at advance curve 5( high compression 2 valve) it will start and run. Sounds good with no bad sounds or breaks. Although at the moment I just had the exhaust propped onto the head and not bolted down. Does anyone have any objections about me making my own exhaust cap deals(what holds the exhaust and flanges to the head) out of a sheet of steel as long as everything is spaced right? At the moment this is a total loss ignition system, it does not utilize ANY of the stock wiring harness. Any ideas on how to wire up a charging system?

Jordan if you are talking about the split keepers for your exhaust I suppose you could make them but they are still available from Kawasaki and they only cost about $3.00 each. Doesn't hardly seem worth it to make your own.

ok, maybe I wont post any pictures. Every time I try it says the picture has exceeded size. I even resized the pictures down to thumbnail (160x120) and it still says they are too large. Any help? Here is the web address for the pictures, if anyone else can post them good luck.

Now that's a sweet looking bike! :D

Couldn't resist :)

See where it says "Direct Link" under each picture? Under that is a url that starts with http, copy that url then click on the img box at the top of your posting page, change the 150 after img to 550, and paste the url between the two img tags.

All those nice Hondas yours?

I wish all those hondas were mine!!! Those bikes are all in a previous thread of mine. Search HIDDEN TREASURE and you should find it. I did try contacting the owner and he said that he will NEVER sell any of the bikes. He does not plan on removing them from the house, or cleaning them up.
Oh yeah and thanks for the picture help I will give it a try
