It sure is cool to see a young guy interested in the old bikes. Take advantage of the equipment you have available. When I was in school I had access tool all of the "tools of the trade" but I was more into old farm equipment and pick up trucks. You show alot of tallent and lots of vision. The bike looks cool and you're going about it the right way. Ask lots of questions and use all of our knowledge to help you make your choices. If you don't take our ideas we won't hate you, just make sure you make safe choices.

Frame is finally back!!! All powdercoated and ready for reassembly

Jordan bike looks awesome so far, I agree with you and this forum. Good to see you build this bike not get the plastic stuff out there.

I just got my kz project back. It was being done for me. I had it painted and the 810 big bore kit done. What a improvement over stock. Just one thing to say. GOnna eat some gas. My 3.5 tank gets me station to gas station.

810 kit stage 3 jets V&H pipe pods eats up the gas but roll on is awesome and the sound kicks any new bikes but:)

Should have some good 'garage' days coming up; look forward to seeing your progress updates.

I justed wanted to say nice project! The frame and wheels turned out great! Did you paint or powdercoat them? I've received mixed opinions regarding the quality of powdercoating these cast wheels so I'm wondering what most guys have done.

Aah, powdercoating is the best solution for frame etc, Its no doubt. Looks great!

As for powdercoating cast wheels, the one 1000J i have was that done to for over 15 years ago, still looks like new.

Totally agree RoyNor. The wheel looks AWESOME. The only problem is that none of the little shops around here want to put the tire on in fear of scratching the powdercoating(Same reason I'me not doing it myself either). I never imagined the frame would look that good! Thanks for the comment on what I can expect when its done. I really hope it has plenty of power. Now I can't wait til its done! If its not fast enough, I might need to place an order at nitrous express:evil:

Jordan, just curious did your wheels require any prep work by the powdercoater, other than sandblasting?

I don't believe so. I did the sandblasting to reduce cost. He charged me for powdercoating, and said nothing about extra work required.
