GPZ 750 R1 was created by Michel3007
Hi all,

I have recently bought a GPZ 750 R1 that, among other things, is missing a front fairing.
These are quite difficult to come by and I am thinking of buying an aftermarket replica. Does anybody know of a good brand (Maier maybe ?) ?
If somebody has an original one, I would be interested by the way, so feel free to PM me ! I live in France but shipping costs don't necessarily scare me.

I would also need to refab the mounting brackets (11036-1349 and 1350), since these are also rare to find, and was wondering if anybody had the measurements or possibly a 3D modelisation of these brackets ?

Here are a couple of pictures of the bike :

I believe Howard 3D printed the mounts and seal for his 1100 ELR tribute so may be able to help you out (last months BOTM)

I have an Airtech Streamlining fairing that might work for you.

It’s nicely made and lightweight. But they don’t drill a mounting holes. And the windshield that I got for it from G&G doesn’t fit, even though it’s supposed to be the exact right part.

Also it’s the one that has a round headlight opening instead of a square one.

Yeah, the drilling part involved put me off when I found their website. There could be a costly mistake in the process...
I do need the square one for my bike. Thank you for the offer though !

Anybody in Europe knows of that particular ebay seller ? Fairing ebay

So, I have a bit of experience with your model (Z750R1 (GP))...but the North American version.  The Maier GPz fairing and windscreen are dimensionally identical to the OEM Kawasaki fairing but there are a few issues with Maier and other clone fairings, with the primary being they all come without the gasket between the windscreen and the fairing body.  That gasket has not ever been available as an aftermarket part...and when they do appear, they are very pricey (there is one from a UK vendor currently on ebay)..  You can try and fabricate a gasket because you will need one due to vibration.  As for mounting hardware, you can make your own (as suggested in an earlier post) or purchase a set (there is a complete mounting set from a UK vendor currently on ebay). The hardware set is also very pricey. Note also that both these ebay items are from the UK.  The fairing hardware seller only mentions that the hardware fits the Z1000R and Z1100R but fails to mention your model and Z1100B2...all of which use the same set of hardware to mount the fairing.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the input. I checked and more than 200 British pounds for the mounting kit is outrageous... my gosh. I will definitely make sure to add a gasket (I'll find a substitute).
I think I found a suitable repro, looks ok quality and the paint will be redone anyways: Fairing
If anyone know of them, would be interested to have feedback, otherwise I will once purchased ;)

Yes, that is a reasonable price for a combination fairing/windscreen.  If you decide to fabricate your own mounting hardware, please let us all know how the project progresses.

Howard has CAD models for the mounts and the gasket, he has already printed his own parts

That  Ebay repro green fairing you refer to is for the 1981 GPz 550 D1, and is somewhat different /  smaller than the 1982 GPz 1100 B2 fairing, on which my designs were made.
So, my 3D printed mounting brackets and seal will not fit.
