The stock seat would have been the flat "ironing board" style, with a strap across it.

I have the flat seat on my 77 B1,
but my 77 C1 came with a seat just like tlh101's.
I has all the kaw info on the underside of the pan and the spot for the owners manual.
But I'll be damned if I know what year/style it's from.

But, I would like to be able to find a replacement when mine goes bad, it is a lot more comfy than the original.

Didn't mean to post your picture without your OK ... I just googled KZ650, and copied the prettiest one I saw into the post. I was rushed, and didn't look to see whose bike it was.
But it SURE IS a fine example
