is it possible to change the fork oil without removing forks?
why well i seem to have to much travel on my forks and they are a little soft, plus the anti dives dont seem to work at all(brakes work fine though).
id rather not take the forks off as im a stay at home dad with a curious 3yr old and with 3 bulging disks finding the time to striip the whole front end down before my back lock up and i need to laydown and recover lol is like a big ordeal.
let me know if anyone has heard of it being done or do i have to do it the old fashioned way.

There should be a drain plug in the bottom of the fork, so all you would need to do is remove the drain plug, drain the oil, remove the top plug, refill the forks with the correct amount of oil.
Chances are the anti-dive still won't work though, the bushings in the forks are probably worn, allowing the fork oil to bypass the anti-dive. A lot of people remove the anti-dive units and install Progressive fork spings. I posted a drawing with dimensions a short time ago for the block off plates that allow you to totally remove the anti-dive units. You can also just disconnect them without removing them, look in the "Links" section on the right for the "GPz750 FAQ", instructions are there.

In order to do this without taking the forks out, you need to do the following. Note this is assuming you have small drain screws on the side of your forks near the axle.

Remove the gas tank so you won't drop things on it and pieces won't fly out of your forks and dent or scratch it.

Put the bike on the centerstand or jack it up on a lift so the bike is level and there is no weight on the front end.

Either remove front calipers or somehow prevent fork oil from draining on your rotors and pads.

Remove the top fork nuts and the drain screws - fork oil should drain out. If the oil is nasty then you may want to pour a little solvent down the fork to wash it out.

Put drain screws back in.

Refill forks with proper amount of oil (cc's). I use a measuring cup or a 2-stroke gas/oil mix graduated cup.

I often use ATF instead of special fork oil as it has additives for the seals and is 10weight.

Put it all back togther and go for it!

no need to remove calipers they are above the drain plugs, any oil spilled can be cleaned up easy enough.synthetic 30w motor oil works good in these old front ends to help stiffen them up;)

Hey kano,

You got enough room on the vineyard to run your bike up? I bet you have a hard time finding a spot to hit 4th gear.
