Tight Fender Clearance vs Tire was created by skippr76KZ
Smelled the ever so subtle aroma of tire rubber after my latest test ride. I thought my fender clearance on this tire "should" be OK. Seems like maybe not. Here's what I know. This is supposed to be a stock 76KZ900 Front Fender that was on the bike when I bought it. The tire is not original, but "supposed" to be a stock replacement. 110/90/19 62H Dunlop Qualifier. Does the clearance seem a little tight on these? (wireman - don't say I told you so - when you pointed this out to me a few weeks back ):pinch: Any ideas? Perhaps the wrong fender or the wrong tire?

that looks pretty close. I don't remember my fender running that close. also looks like that fender is for a skinnier tire. looks like an ltd fender from what I can see. my front ltd tires are 100/90/19

Yeah....This is an LTD. Forgot to mention that. It's not theres constant contact, but one has to think there might be (or is) occasional rubbing. So far there is no sign of scrape or wear on the sidewalls where the tire would be coming into contact.

but maybe you ahve an ltd fender from a later model. this is what your's should look like, the edges don't curve, they seem more square, and it looks like there are cut outs near the forks.

you tire might rub as the tire flexes. I'd take the fender off and have a look.

Skip:
I'm running with a Bridgestone Spitfire 11F in front. The tire size is 100/90-19 57H. Don't know what the "57H" vs. your "62F" means.

Everything I have seen says the stock tire should be a 3.25-19 which converts to no larger than a 100/90. Maybe the 110 is just a bit too big? A 110/90 is higher and wider than the 100/90.

Front Tires:
Metric Alpha Inch

80/90 MH90 2.50/2.75

90/90 MJ90 2.75/3.00

100/90 MM90 3.25/3.50

110/90 MN90 3.75/4.00

120/80 ---- 4.25/4.50

120/90 MR90 4.25/4.50

130/90 MT90 5.00/5.10

get a wood dowel and put it between tire and fender work it back and forth to flatten the lip on inside of fender a little bit till you get some clearance.it it doesnt do it pull fender off and lay it on carpet so you dont ding up the chrome and roll the dowel across the lip like a rolling pin to flatten it out.;) call me if it dont work.;)

Just be careful with that fender, Skip!
You'll never find another one as nice.

What me worry? I'm just gonna let my fender shave off any "Excess" rubber till I get a new tire ordered! :P
