Grab rail was created by Andyp62
Hi all
I would like to fit a grab rail to my 1978 Z650 B2, does anyone know if one would fit from another bike?, maybe a z900 or 750?
thanks

Are your frame grips missing or are you wanting a 1-piece unit that curves around the seat?

Kawasaki did make a unit (part # 32109-1025) like what you are seeking. The part was used in the UK and EU markets at least that is my understanding. I know the 81,82 and 83 F models for the Z650 machines. I do not know of anyone making it now but you may get lucky and find an old one on line.

Is that parts diagrams from a microfiche? Thanks.

Andyp62: the Jarlef z650 site has some pics. the D grip looks different than the F.  >> jarlef.no/Kawasaki/Series/Z/650/Z650F.htm

Yes the pic came from a on line parts lists for the F2, F3, and F4 Z650s.   z650.surr.fr/parts.html

Here are the part #s that I have found for the grab rails that were stock on 650s  As I understand it the grab rails for the D and E models are different length than the one used on the B, C, and F1 model.

The frame grips are on but I wanted to fit one that goes round the seat as on the Z900

You should not have a issue finding one at a breakers in the UK. There seems to be a lot of F models over there.

OK not sure why but I feel like I sort of sent you down a rabbit hole.  I asked on the z650 proboards site about the grip for the F model bikes as was told they are like hens teeth, you will not find one.

You did ask if there were other grips from other bikes that might be made to work. I do not know off the top of my head if any other units would work on a 650. I think the issue would be the length/distance between the connections points.

Kawasaki did make another like grip for the 650 H models (these were sold in the US unlike the F2 F3 F4) The part# is 32109-1016. It is my understanding, not saying my understanding is correct, that the connection points are not the same on the B, C and F and is not a direct bolt on. It is also my understanding the the above part will work a 750 twins.

Others here may be able to measure the connection points on the different models to see if any will fit.

Sorry for sending you down the rabbit hole!!!!!
