84 GPZ750. Modded with stock Kawasaki parts: ZR-7 shock, ZX-6 coils, GPZ1100 throttle, EN454 brake, GPZ900 fuse box, etc. and non stock: Ken Sears mirrors, K&N filter, Pirelli Sport Demons.

84 GPZ 750. When getting the master cylinder ready for the rebuild, I have the master cylinder off the bar, the handle off, the plastic and rubber boot out.
Should I be able to just pull the piston right out? The diagram shows a piston stop washer it looks like, just not sure if I have to unscrew something or what not.
Another question, do most motorcycles have 7/8 handlebars? It seems like I could use another master cylinder off of brand x..... I see a few off of ZX10s for some reason on ebay.
TIA
Louie

my 650 has 7/8 bars, and while looking at grips that fit it, most of the grips say they fit most biks, ZXs ect..., just ebay grips and see what bikes use the same ones as yours

if you got the rubber off and the white plastic retaining ring off then the pistion shoud pull out unless its been there awhile:P and the alunminum (?spelling) has corodded, if you have a new piston just pull it out if not then try some penetrating oil and work it till it comes out, just make sure you clean up real good after I don't know what penetrating oil and brake fluid would do together and not sure if I would want to find out:blink:

PB will soften and expand rubber parts. I soaked my caliper in it and forgot to remove the o-ring. The next morning there was NO WAY that o-ring was going back in, it was way too big and soft. It stayed like that too.
I guess i'm saying "I hope you have the rubber parts to replace what will be softened"

Yep, noticed that too, had to replace one o-ring.
Back together and working great now!
