steering bearings was created by dan76kz900
I need to replace my steering bearings before I put my forks back on my frame. I figured out today when I was about to assemble the front back together that the bearings are not good.
Can anyone give me some bearing numbers I can take to a bearing house for them to look up ? I got numbers off the bearings I had.. but all I found was "30K" and on the bottom bearing "30KW". That was all..
Any help - Thanks !

by the way the part #'s I gave you are for tapered roller bearings witch are a GREAT inprovement from your ball bearings, and your probably right about having no seals for those old bearings, the tapered ones have seals

Are you sure the tapered bearings have seals? I don't recall seeing any on the ones I have done, but maybe I just don't remember them

I have to agree about the tapered Allball bearings.. made a world of diffrence in the front end feel. And I think the tapered ones are sealed . least I think mine were discribed that way..I liked the fact it was a drop in and go fix...lol

Ok, so you are saying there are separate seals?
When I read " the tapered ones have seals" I took that to mean they were sealed bearings, and I have not seen any sealed tapered bearings.
Guess I just misunderstood (again)
But I still don't remember any seals coming with the tapered bearings I have installed on the 750 twins.
But maybe that's only the 750 twins.

Sounds like my best bet is to order the kit - that way I'll get the seal if there is one. I'm assuming allballsracing's kit comes with bearings and races right ? How is their shipping ? price, speedy ? Where do they ship from ?
