What you can do alternatively, which actually looks GREAT is to make a "dash" out of steel and then cut a piece of bar to fit between those clamps, and mount your dash to it.
The dash should have holes for the speedo and tach, and you can place the instruments more level and far forward so you can see them more easily in a tuck.

If the offset, distance between centres, stanchion diameter etc is the same between your bike and a GPz, the GPz upper triple clamps do not have handle bar clamps.
I'm 99% sure they are not.

A custom triple tree sounds pricey. Can't cut of handlebar mounts (carefully) and grind smooth. They are heavy steel pieces, I would not expect any integrity issues, as long as you don't go nuts with a cutting torch.
mine is aluminum.... good ideas though... let us all make a triple clamp...stupid conversions
