Shock and Fork Boots

Here's ONE. Will this work?

seems to be a common problum. my 84 zn1100 also needs the boots for the rear. been trolling around e-bay because i also found a set from the dealer but they wanted $66 apiece for them. love the older kawai's but sometimes there a real pain in the a$$.

sometimes i wish i stumbled across a hidden warehouse full of old nos and performance parts.
then i could retire @ 36!

so, who has that secret stash of 29 smoothbores there sitting on?

I am going to talk to a guy from cyclexchange and they have some and he's going to see if they fit a parts bike they have witch are KZ1100 & 1000's I will find out today if they work and get the right price on them.

Seems I stumbled onto the right forum. I hate to crash this thread but would like opinion of adding gaters to a bike that did not have them. I aquired a KZ650 LTD and the forks are in a sorry shape. I'll clean them best as possible and replace when I can. For now would like opinion of addiing gaters for time being.

If you look real close into the gas tank reflection you'll see a very tiny picture of me.

Those fork boots are from a 250 Montessa. The right boot sags because I used to have a steering damper fitted there. I took it off after I discovered and corrected the real problem.

Check out the original seat and the dual disks, which I added.

I'm glad you like the look. The paint job is less than first rate but the color is rich and deep.

The only modifications are the dual disks on the front and Z1R needle bearings in the swing arm. Oh, And the Montessa 250 Fork boots.

The real problem was:

After about 12000 miles my 900 started shaking it's head if I hit any bump during a curve. I looked, I thought, hi and low and finally decided that since everything was fit and tight, I'd try a steering damper. I connected the damper to a U bolt type clamp that I tightened on the fork just below the bottom triple clamp. It was a good damper with an easily adjustable damping knob. It served me fairly well for two more years till I decided to tear down the whole rear end just to look. I was blown away to see that the swing arm bushings were severely ovaled out. I'm a fanatic about maintenance, I had greased that swing arm twice a year for ever, how could it be worn? We'll they were shot. I ordered a set of swing arm bearings for a Z1R and they fit right in. I was now running on four needle bearings instead of two bushings, I was happy! To boot the front end now stayed planted during transitions in curves. I pulled that damper off and chalked another one to Ma Kaw.

what are the diamiters of the lower shok fork and upper on the 1000 and 1100 were the boots will fit and I can find out if the gatter boots will fit.
