In the middle of engine rebuild so I thought i would replace a few leaky seals at the same time. Removed alternator cover and found oil in the bottom of it so I assume there is a crank seal behind alternator rotor. Got the bolt out of the rotor but see now there is another "special" tool I need to pull the rotor off of the end of the crankshaft. Anybody got any tricks for this...??? Searched for the tool and found that there are a few available through PartsnMore relativly cheap but not sure what size to get. They list a 18mm and a 16mm for KZ1000A/B model but nothing for D1 model. The threade part at the end of my rotor measures a little over 14mm. Thanks for the help. Ride safe...........
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

The 550's are sealed. I've never seen oil in the alternator chamber.
