Dyna vs. Accel coils was created by woo102
I've got a 78 (or 77 can't remember) KZ 650. I'm having some running issues. It has new points that are dwelled and timed correctly. In my normal troubleshooting inspection I noticed that one of my coils had a small hole and was pushing out some sort of dielectric grease. Now it's time to replace the coils. I found that the Accel 140403 kit is a little cheaper then the Dyna coils and spark plug wires. Is there a difference in the quality of the two? Has any one noticed a difference in performance between the two?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I have never used Dyna coils as the Accel coils bolt straight on the 750 twins stock mounting (but not the 650's), and I can say they are a great improvement over 28 year old stock coils.

All 3 of the Dyna coils I've bought used the stock mounting on my 400 and 750 twins. I'ts tight on the 750s, but do-able without modification.

...but sorry I can't help you woo102... ;)

The Accels' holes are too wide to bolt straight to the 650 mounts. However, the front hole can be used and then a small hose clamp can be used to hold the rear strap of the Accel to the frame tube. Make sure the hose clamp head doesn't contact the tank. Don't ask how I know...

BTW, welcome aboard, and did we ask for pics yet?
