Coil Power Mod Diagram was created by shawntmartin
After reading a document that was originally posted by wiredgeorge and then altered (I guess) by someone else, I have come up with this diagram *ONLY* to see if I have understood everything correctly.

Here is what I came up with....

(Note: Eventhough I have already stated this, I will state this again... I am not trying to revise the old diagram. This is just for my use only.)

Diagram has been moved to the last diagram to the "Biquetoast and whoever else..." post.

Its so hard to read... I thought I'd be able to make it larger but I'm limited to 550 pixels...

Yep, that's it.

There is one thing that will change a bit now because of the new coil: now you can run the yellow wire from the pigtail all the way to the coil (the diagram shows the splice for the stock coil).

Ah - that's an easy one (going to the points). The thing I *don't* remember is how the Newtronic looks in all of that, but it should be basically the same as the points...

Anyway, the OLD, stock blue wire to the points is connected to the coil. There are only two connections to the coil (not counting the plug wires): 1.) the old, stock, partially-sheathed blue wire that goes to the points, and 2.) the yellow wire in the pigtail of the relay.

Only one of my bikes has a Newtronic, all four have the coil-power mod, and three of them have Dyna coils.

Kano, I wasn't trying to revise what wiredgeorge had. I was just posting a diagram to see if the wires were going to the right place. It was kind of a "is this right?" instead of a "it should be like this". However, i do prefer the color coded version. It just seems easier for me to duplicate if I can see where all of the colors go... For instance, his diagram doesn't mention the red wire from the pigtail and without someone spelling it out for me I wouldn't have known that you don't need it. I guess I'm not schemtaic savy. But like I said, I'm not trying to revise anything because I'm a novice at knowing the wiring for this bike.

I can install car stereos, power amps, speakers all of that kind of stuff but I don't need to read schematics for that...

Biquetoast, thanks...

Yea I know... I didn't mean anything negative by my last post. But when you said there was a better diagram elsewhere, I figured you thought I was trying to post a diagram for everyone to use. The problem with typing is that you can't actually hear the way I say things, and sometimes its easy to take things wrong. I never meant for my last reply to sound like i was tryng to prove a point. But, it can read like that. I do appreciate the help....
