New problem with dyna S (Gpz 1100) was created by dwarfed
Hi again,
I was on this helpful site asking for help to wire this Dyna ignition, to which help came fast and I thankyou.
I got spark !........... BUT......... now it has thrown me a new challenge
Could someone please help with this new challenge, I will describe what is happening as best as I can.
OK, here we go.....
With the dyna installed and wired how I was advised, this is what happens,
The rotor picks up the pickup and fires coil for 2&3, thats GOOD,
The rotor then spins 180 deg and picks up the other pickup, BUT instead of firing 1&4 it fires 2&3 also.
With all four plug leads off and earthed against motor to check for spark, only 2 fire and 2 are dead, and obvousily its 2&3 showing the spark.
Dead coil I thought, so I swapped everthing to see what would happen, this time only 1&4 fire.
Mmmmm.... might be a problem with the wires between pickups and coils, so unpluged them, spliced in new wires at the pickups, connected to coils, yet still have exactly the same problem.
Can someone shed some light on this please ?
Any help will be VERY much appreciated, thanks, Doug

Hmm, sounds like one pickup module isn´t working - check this thread, there´s a test sheet at the bottom:

Hi OnkelB again ,
Yeah that's what I thought it may be, a pickup gone bad.
Do you know whether you can buy new ones by themselves or do I go and buy the whole lot again ? We've had quite a few years out of this one with great performance, so either way it's no problem having to get another one.
Anyhow, good talkin to you again, I'll go and do these tests,
Thanks for the reply, Doug.
