A good argument for syncing the carbs. Though they looked good on the bench, #3 the lead carb was at 30 when the rest were at 19, #4 was at 29. Had to loosen #3 arm on the shaft to make it come down, then tighten it. Not much but enough to throw everything off. Finally got them close enough. I'll put some miles on it to let things settle in, then do it again. No more popping out of the pipe and one cylinder running lean.
The "nipples" are easy to get to and are a pleasure to use. B)
They're perky. :woohoo:

You can't really tell by the video, the revs are quicker and it pulls stronger.

Sounds like the juice is flow'n pretty good!

A couple years ago a riding buddy got T-boned by the front wheel of a John Deere farm tractor that the driver had turned to cross the road a split-second after I past him. The guy was driving along in the ditch with the left rear tire just off the pavement when I passed.
I held lane position, but my buddy had to cross the double yellows to avoid running directly into the side of the tractor, and likely would have made it if he'd been riding a Kawasaki instead of a Harley.
I watched the whole event in my 4" left mirror, just to the point where his right forward foot peg exploded at impact. I looked away at that point, and turned around at the next driveway not knowing if he would be alive when I got back there. He was laying flat-out in a grassy field, about 40 feet off the road, and was ok except for the pulverized bones in his right foot, but the Harley was terminated.
That unfortunate situation immediately ended my buddy's riding career, and he didn't get a ticket for crossing the yellows because the tractor driver failed to yield.
My philosophy on riding is that a person can be too careful, but must be able to ride like hell to avoid a problem when only an instant of time is available, and not be afraid to do it.

I know what you mean. In the wreck the guy I was riding with passed the truck on the right shoulder. I held back until I could pass legally. I saw the driver in his mirror as he pulled over to the right so I dropped down and started to roll it on. He turned left and left me nowhere to go. As it happened I started to avoid him but realized I wasn't going to make it so I put it on it's side and stepped off. That's all I remember. My skid mark was less than 6' long and was a J pattern. It was just on the other side of the double yellow. I got a ticket in the mail for passing in a intersection, lost my licence for a year because I didn't report it within 10 days. I was in the FK'n hospital. 3 illegals in a stake bed truck.
In this case it's another prick in the car trying to keep me behind him. You'll notice the distance between the cars as they spread out to prevent passing. It happens all the time this time of year. Out of stater's. While the jerk is grinning in his mirror, I grab a handful when I see an opening and go, leaving him in his angry pathetic little world.
