Pulled the clutch out today to see if the KZ1000
pressure plate would work and it's a direct swap.
At this point I see no reason why a KZ1000 lockup
would not work.
The clutch it self look's like chit so the APE Track king clutch will be ordered soon.

Dave, when i get home tonight i will take a pic of my lock up clutch made by grumpy on 750 turbo .its all in the cover and pusher .there is a spacer that goes between the stock cover and engine case.the pusher is extra long .the snow flake should be the same as a kz 1000 .i was thinking you could modify a stock cover by welding a flange in place and making it thicker like they do on KZ's.

That and the price with me being a cheap a%% I know
I could come up with one cheaper.

now i know why he designed it this way because of the clutch pusher is in the clutch cover.if it was '82 and older it would have a push rod through the shaft.does not leave many choices.

Spdygon been a long time since I ran 1/4 mile our track's 1/8 mile.
Based on the 1/8 mile time's it should have gone high 11.80's.
My goal is to be the quickest KZ650 in the USA.
Quickest on record was the Denco built KZ650 back in the late 70's
that was said to have went 10.89.

A young lady at Byron dragway back in the 80s was running 10.9s in the summer and 10.7s in the cool weather.
Can't remember exactly the set up but I think folks have talked about her on on here. It was either the 810 set up or the 831cc MTC , 10.5 to 1 , a 400 lift cam, 29mm smoothbores, slick, wheelie bar, struts, header..... not sure about a longer swingarm either. I have a pic somewhere where she had 10.97 on her bike ( was running ET class at that time and was July ....... that's when she told me it would do 10.7s if it was spring or fall.
I talked to her a few times....... I was hell bent on the 831 kit and a 370 lift Andrews cam at that time so I'm sure the 400 lift cam is right cause I remember thinking I'll be a little under cammed if I ever ran her. She was fearless outta the hole hell of a good rider.
Thinking the Denco bonneville article is here somewhere too where they got the 740cc kit in the low 11s and high tens after switching out to alum rims with approx. the same set up ..... cam, carbs, slick etc. That could be what your talking about.

KZB2 you are right that's the number's I was talking about.
Thinking if I can get this in the 10.70's/80's no bar street tire all motor
I would have the right to claim it is the quickest in the USA. till proven wrong.
Gonna be a lot of work to do it but it can be done.
