MotoGP comes to Austin!!!!!!

Here's why I was so excited when the Formula 1 track was announced in Austin. We're getting a round of MotoGP in 2013. You know where I'll be: www.motorcycle.com/news/texas-to-host-motogp-in-2013-90724.html

Oh yeah! This is great! When I lived in College Station, I spent a fair amount of time at Texas World Speedway (in College Station). I have missed a decent road track since I left there.

The best part is that it's only a couple of hours for us Houston guys. The last place that I lived in Austin was just on the other side of Highway 71. Deja vu!

I'll be going to the last one in Indy this year, not sure why they are moving it to your area after such a short run there as it did pretty well for attendance (though I did hear that the riders complained about the course).

Enjoy it and don't miss one in the future as they might just move it again or not even have one in the states, sort of a fickle organization it would seem.

I know that Dorna extended the contract for Indy to include 2011, but have they specifically stated that the Indy GP is going away? Is it possible that we have three GP's in the US?

And Leon, that would be about 5 miles east of the true freak show. It used to be said that Austin was 60 square miles surrounded by reality. I miss living there.

I'm sorry, but Indy with F1/MotoGP is just boring. This is going to be tits! Hopefully the prototype series guys will manage to frequent the track too (ALMS/GrandAm). Gonna have to work on my frequent flyer miles...

Apparently they already held the 2010 USGP from Austin. Notice the F150 is keeping the Subaru at bay when the road grader comes streaking past. Exciting race action at 10mph for sure.



BTW DD I have the last MotoGP game for the Wii and Indy is the easiest track. It's boring once you learn the circuit. Can you tell I'm excited? I AM TOTALLY STOKED FOR THIS RACE!!!!! My childhood dream was to be Emerson Fittapaldi driving the John Player Special Lotus. I can't wait for this race. Hell yeah baby! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
