Apologies for not putting the damn necessary info... I've been out on some personal health issues. (not vaxxine)
2005 Kaw Police Kz1000.
Obviously I am going to go for a re torque first,,, have to. Then it's probably OEM gaskets. They are flat out outrageous. Personally,,,,, I think it that Globull Warming. These woke companies are willing to go broke rather than tell Satan Clause of the WEF where to go. If you cannot fix your """Fossil""" fueled vehicle it's off the road and that is what they want. I'm watching GM, Ford, and VW trashing their own production models saying we all need to go electric. Ford is telling their Dealers that unless they spend the money (hundreds of thousands) they are out of here.
Clowns to the left of me,,, Jokers to the right
Here we are,,, stuck in the middle of this insanity!
Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving... I'll get back after the re torque with the bad news.

I had the same issue. Probably surface fault. I re torqued and it slowed down. Did it again but it did weep a little. Sent my spare block in for boring my 1075 kit, cleaned the case, put it together and no leaks.
It could be the locater pins weren't quite lining up as well. I use Cometic gaskets but the head gasket is three piece from Wiseco.
Now it's leaking.
Have a new Cometic gasket ready to go in soon.

Check partzilla for the PN's, then hit up eBay for gaskets. A guy is selling head gaskets for $19.90 shipped (need 2). Base gaskets are $30 from Kawasaki. Not all that much really.

That problem for me ended with a set of APE HD cylinder studs.

Have always used Vesrah, never had a problem, these are high quality gaskets. Quite happy to use the special cam tunnel hooped one in the set as well, despite dire warnings from some, although they never explain why or how it failed. Vesrah made and still make the gaskets for Jap manufacturers, they even made brake pads for Kawasaki at one point. All the manufacturers do is slap their brand name on them and triple the price.
On the old z's I just grease the base gasket before installation, well most gaskets except head gaskets, don't know why but have always done it. All this said I have noticed on a couple of top end z1 sets I purchased recently the included valve stem seals were awful, apparently these are made in china now and Vesrah add them in as a little pack. Good viton stem seals are available from specialists and are well recommended, Kawasaki ones are of course fine but expensive!
In my opinion its a pain but worthwhile to spend plenty of time on getting the gasket surfaces really really clean and not skimp on this process, 98% preparation, 2% application.

DR Gamma: Seems you are correct,,, just finished the retorque and it leaks just as bad. The right side you can actually see the oil come out when revving about 2500. I thought this was a oil return but it appears to be pressurized? I removed the oil cap, checking for excess back pressure, and it still leaked as bad.
The gasket you show in your pic no where resembles the Veshra gasket I purchased from Z1 enterprises. It was totally dry with no appearance of a sealant like yours... I am assuming your pic is of a OEM gasket?...
Well it appears I get some more Kawasaki experience I do not want.
I want to thank everyone for their input and wish all a Merry Christmas!
