I know this is a KZ forum, but I know a lot of you dabble in other stuff too.

I scored(?) a 1976 Honda CB750 Supersport for $100 over the weekend. 

Still not sure what to do with it. 

Currently missing carburetors, front and rear brake calipers, RS hand controls, points cover, clutch mechanism and cover, side covers. Started de-rusting the tank yesterday, and it sprang about 9 pinholes on the left side.

It does have a lot of really good parts. Forks and fork tubes, front fender, DID wheels, frame, are all in great shape. 

Looking for opinions. Worth my effort to bring back? Cafe it? Part it out on eBay? I'm just not sure what's worth the money/effort.

My vote is part it if you have the time to F'ck with that.  Ebay "sold" listings is a good guide regarding how much parts are worth.  The exhaust should be worth good money if it isn't all rusted out.

My vote is part it if you have the time
Before you invest the time, you could just give it a wash and list it as it is.  Odds are you could make 500-1000 with no effort.

It'd be cool to bring it back, in my opinion. I like seeing bikes living again instead of torn apart.

I gave it a good clean yesterday, but didn't have the wherewithal to take a photo. 

A part of me really wants to make a cafe out of it, as that would replace most of the garbage anyway, but $$$.

I think I have a few lines on some carb racks for cheap. (Keihin 41As for $100, or 2 Keihin and a Mikuni rack for $250). I might pull the motor and open it up to see what's going on inside before I make a decision. If it looks too far gone, that might cement my decision.

A bargain for $100 and you should multiply your money if you split it  .
I've had an F2 ( comstar wheels) back in the early eighties and it was the most god awful handling death trap i've ever ridden .

Nice buy!  It seems like you're looking at it as a challenge.  Should be easy to find the parts you need, as it was a common bike back then.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Those are good candidates for a cafe' build. My friend is building one now and it is soooo cool with that stainless tank.

Vintage Hondas are typically easier to sell.  If you just cleaned it up, you could probably make a profit selling the whole bike without having to bother w parting it out.  Getting it running obviously would make it worth even more.  In which case then you might want to keep it. hee.

All you need is time and money. A couple of grand to make it a runner then who knows? It depends how nice you want it to be.
Providing it has a title.

OK, now some good info from someone who is not a Honda hater and actually owns that precise model.  Cb750f models are kind of odd, in that they are slightly rarer than similar year K models, the typical classic cb750 styled bike.  So the K models are what most collectors want, even though the F's are rarer, and slightly stronger performers.  Fortunately, there are still a sizeable contingent restoring and riding them, so certain parts are worth lots.  All the F gas tanks were prone to rust in the lower seamed edge, plus in strong demand from customizers, so crazy high prices for gas tanks in good condition.  Unfortunately, sounds like yours is shot.  The rear disc brake components are extremely rare and pricey.  Other than that, parts are either the same as a K model, or not in demand as they only fit the F.  Honda engines are expensive to build, but most everything you will need is still available from Honda.  The correct Keihin carbs are cheaper than your average rack of Mikuni VM and easy to rebuild, often requiring absolutely no new parts...just clean and re-assemble.  And despite what the generally very knowledgeable Mr Zed1015 says, they handle quite well.  Take a step outside your little Kawi focused world for a moment and realize that the rest of the world thinks of Kawasaki's as the ill handling pigs of the 70's.  Having owned both, its all hearsay anyway.  My kz650 handles the best but the Honda's had much better suspension.  My kz1000 handles much worse than any of the three 750f's I have owned.  I have ridden a Z1B and that wobbly noodle frame compounded with Kawasaki's extremely mediocre suspension would have made for quite a miserable turd if it wasn't for the sheer awe of the engine.  Even 1970's hot rod Honda's are not gonna compare to that engine.  

Your bike is in pretty bad shape it looks like.  If you were interested in obtaining a better example, yours would make a great parts donor.  I can't recommend trying to fix it up unless you really want to keep one for the long term.  Basically, without a viable tank, you would do just as well to find an example with a good tank.  I don't know what you mean by Cafe, as that word has lost all meaning  Do you want to hack it up into some skateboard seat abomination for a quick sale to some newbie hipster?  I can't and won't recommend that to anyone.  Or do you want to attempt to build a high performance vintage street bike?.
