That's really nice, but I would have liked to see the "retro theme" taken a little further.

Nice bike for sure, but other than the paint job, the shape of the tail, and the fact that it has 2 wheels it doesn't have a lot in common with a Z1, so for Kawasaki or the press to call it "retro" seems to me a bit of a stretch. Liquid cooled, single shock, USD forks, fuel injection, etc., etc. I suspect make it better than the Z1 in many respects, but leave little in common with the original. That's ok with me since remaking the original Z1 would seem like a bike without much of a market. Ed

I understand your point Ed, but when you look at everything else is the Kawi product line, this one looks distinctly different. More naked bike with smother lines versus the Transformer look of virtually every other performance machine in the lineup.

I feel that if they just kept the exhaust completely chrome head to tail (rid of the guard in the middle, or whatever it is) and get rid of the anodization o the forks, it would go a long way to make it look like the original.

Edit: I like the shape of the front fender, but it would be nice if was chrome as well. Not sure if it needs to have the wheels all chrome as well, the black looks pretty good. Would be nice to see what it would look like with chrome wheels though.

I like it just the way it is . Been staring at the picture and until I sit on it everything looks just fine to me.
Maybe I will talk my Son into splitting the cost with me if they decide to sell it here in the states.
