40th Anniversary VJMC Rally in Pigeon Forge, TN was created by slmjim+Z1BEBE
Hi all,
The rally proper will be Thur. 6/22 through Sat. 6/24 at the Ramada Inn South, 4010 Parkway, in Pigeon Forge.
Rides will be offered every day to Wheels Through Time, US-129/The Dragon, Clingsman Dome and other destinations. The indoor bike show will be at the attached Conference Center on Saturday. Very fine examples of extremely rare Japanese bikes will be present, as well as daily riders, survivors and the odd rat bike. All vintage, all Japanese.
We'll be there with our recently completed Euro-lookalike '73 Z-1, which was a seven year restoration effort from basket case to completion. We'll also have at least one of our '93 CB750 Nighthawks, maybe both. Z1BEBE's red Nighthawk will go in the trailer. I'll have to ride my blue one there if we're to have both of them, and it's somewhat of a weather consideration if I ride it or not; we can only get two bikes in our trailer.
VJMC has sold out our reserved block of 100 rooms. Overflow is at a hotel across the street.
If you can make it to the show on Saturday you'll see a collection of vintage Japanese bikes second to none in the nation.

Hello Jim, "Wheels through time" is on my bucket list. I had a few emails & pictures shared with Dale last winter when I seen an episode of him with a "WAGNER" 1915 I sent him pics of the one we built from scratch using a Honda Ascot engine.
Too bad I could not get this little 1965 J1TL Kawasaki I just acquired down to you.
I would think this little guy would fit right in!
Enjoy the event! Share about 100 photos please!! (LOL)

Hi Marty,
Sweet J1TL! That would fit right in, probably trophy too!
Interesting Wagner too. We'll have to look into them.
VJMC is quite Honda heavy, with second most common being Yamaha. Not a lot of Kaws for some reason, and not much "big iron", as one member referred to one of our Z-1's a few years ago. We took it to mean anything above a half-liter. Lots of tiddlers.
Not many female riders either; of the few women who ride at all, they're pretty much all on tiddlers. Z1BEBE is something of an event when she runs around on her '75 Z-1B.
Pics will be forthcoming.
Good Ridin'

Hi Jim, that's funny! "Tiddlers" that's a new term to me! Never heard that before.
Should try that in the ebay listing when I get it posted. For some reason it is not finishing? Just spinning? No info from ebay? I never sold a complete bike or car. But I'll figure it out soon
It has no regi. Plus I typed in no shipping, local pickup only. But stated buyer must arrange shipping, or pick up at my driveway.
I am hoping for one of the 1-800 cross country buyers grabs it. My 2 Guys Cali; and Wisconsin don't want it? I am shooting for the stars on this one. $$$ $2,500 with offers excepted. Not bad for a $100 investment.

Part 2;
A Jaffa '73 Z-1
A very nice KZ1000. A 4,000 mi. barn find!
GPZ
A Japanese friend, Mr Gen Suzuki (no relation) on our '73 Z-1. That's his wife on the left. They're ex-pats from Tokyo currently living in OH. They came to Pigeon Forge specifically for the show. That's The Lovely Z1BEBE to the right.
The Lovely Z1BEBE on her '93 CB750 Nighthawk. Her bike took second place in it's class! :silly: There were 86 bikes in the show. We were very happy with her win!

Chicks whose bikes won trophys in the show. The Lovely Z1BEBE on the left.
.
A couple of rat bikes. Ridden to the rally from PA.
1965 Honda CB77. Chrome everything. Produced by Honda as a dealer showpiece/demo back in the day. Very rare.
1953 Honda Benley. We've seen this bike run and be ridden. Also very rare.

Part 4:
Honda Dream 50. Fifty cc, dual-overhead cam twin. Sounds like a sewing machine when it runs. Redlines at something like a gazillion RPM.
CB450/4 Japanese market police bike prototype. One of 300. Only one in the U.S.
Dick Mann CB750 racebike.
Honda Monkey. Never imported to the U/S. Brought back by a member when he was in the Navy in the day.. That's him holding it on the posterboard.
Good Ridin'
