lft side cover only, chrome fenders are pitted, tank is clean inside
Only reason I took it was to parts it out. 7,980 miles on odometer. I'm going to sell the top end. Barrels and pistons if good? When I dismantle. I have no extra time or space. 3 motor sickles in a 1-1/2 car garage.
Just looking to see what is the most sought after items.
CV carbs? All 4 slides lift up and come back on their own. 4 brass tiny air mixture screws turn. Bowls were clean. Gas must have been drained yrs. ago
Never figured KHI out? Aluminum D.I.D. rims with 48 spokes?? WTF? or the KZTE1-2 1000cc shaft drives, made all different parts than the chain drives. Here is a Job for "Martin" the 650 Guru! He knows everything about 650's
Here are the pics after pressure washing it down.
Just looking for any ideas?
TIA

That is old duct tape around the ign. housing. The bottom cover screw is broke off from the road!
All spark plugs came out nice, I blow air thru plug holes before I do anything to an old engine, carbs off.
Then an ounce of Marvels Mixture, couple days. It's nice it has the centerstand!

I see 1 dent on right muffler, below cen. stand in up position. No scuffs at the rear. These pics are after a pressure wash and some SOS pads on the chrome.

Mike
Hi Mike, yes pretty clean, I did clean out some dry varnish, I nursed 1 slide for a couple days with a small brush and some mineral oil cleaner mix. They all slide up and push back down. 4 brass air mix screws are great, as is the drain screws on bottom.
What the F? I don't even want to think about these carbs! You need an engineering degree in physics to even try and work on these carbs!
But, they sure will make a nice set for Guy that needs them for a stocker / original.
Plus I'm cleaning the stock air box, the ducts are, savable to use. Even had 3 out of 4 springs/clamp for the back of carbs.

Hi 'S', it actually is low as in not showing anything? This is progressing slow, I am just starting to take parts off.Scirocco wrote: The engine oil level is over the top, looks like an oil/fuel mixture. Looks like a good rebuild bike.
And I'll take a picture of the 1/2 broke off oil fill cap, top of case. Most likely it got broke off from a pair of pliers?? I soaked it a few times. Ill heat it to open.

Hi JW, I sent you a private IM. Pipes are solid inside, but the balance tube ends seemed to rust off on 1 side. So I cut them off flush so I can plug them. They are not to pretty. dings and surface rust. But solid. These are some quick pictures. Great pipes for a daily driver.jwfels wrote: z1k, fully understand, but if they are in good shape and you want to sell privately, give a shout thanks, stay healthy, jf
