Honestly, I have no idea. I've kind of been blindly following threads were people claim to have gotten it all worked out. I'm kinda bashing my head against the wall at this point. Luckily I am going to switch gears and focus on my new toy.swest wrote:

Is that carb normally for a two stroke?
Steve
The new bike is an 81 kz440 but complete. I haven't got a chance to do anything with it, but it looks good.

Carb is set up with
Main 160
Pilot 30
Needle jet Q-0
Needle JN6F9
I have been beating my head against the wall with this thing lol. I have not checked for any air leaks that is next on the list as I run out of ideas. The new bike looks like it will be much less work so hopefully I will get a little bit of a brain break while I get her going.

If all else fails, I'll be able to make one good bike from the two.

I was thinking about cutting them off and adding some slip ons. Has anyone had any luck with that?

The mikuni carb is doing great. I have put a couple hundred miles on it so far and am getting about 45mpg. I have reached red line in all 6 gears just to see how it performs. I'm really impressed at how smooth it runs compared to my stock 440.

The exhaust is pretty free flowing, would that be hindering performance? I hate how loud they are and am looking for something a bit more restricted.
