What can I use to seal off that area where brass overflow tube goes into float body?
Thanks
Mike

Where correctly applied, JBWeld will hold when submerged long term in gasoline.
Many broken float towers repaired with JBWeld have remained in service for years.
For the overflow tube to remain as a functional component of the overflow system, the tiny passageway must be open from top of the tube until exiting from the overflow nipple.
Will require careful attention to avoid clogging the passageway with JBWeld where the tube is embedded.
Is it for certain that the tube itself isn't cracked, and that the leak source is confined to its connection with the bowl?
Good Fortune!

Solder would be the better choice, provided it will also stick to the "pot metal" bowl.mvent wrote: Yes Patton, no apparent cracks in tube, appears to be right at joint, have a soldering gun so I will give that a shot, shouldn't be too hard to do..... I hope
Fingers crossed.
