It is kinda rough starting house keeping when you have to start with nothing and obtain every thing it takes to live.
That aside,I have slowly been trying to build my damaged engine back to where I can run it in before removing it from the wrecked frame.
I had a set of jugs given to me from a rider in Illinois that I have never met. I took my damaged set of jugs with the 1075 sleeves to a friends house and removed the sleeves from both jugs.
The "O" rings at the bottom of the sleeves were toast and I searched around and another member on this forum is sending them to me for free. Those pieces cost over seven bucks each.
I think the head gasket was around $75.00.
I have the jugs in the parts washer letting them soak so I can clean them before installing the sleeves.
I really hope to have the engine assembled next week. Spring time will be here before we know it.
I have been selling parts on eBay so that helps a lot toward buying parts.
I'm sure I am not the only rider building on a shoe string budget. Roy

Maybe not too likely but if I've got anything that would help just list on here,I often see the same part numbers for the 1000 as for my 500 so you never know!

I now have a house full of furniture and today I put up a double bed that was give to me. Now I can roll over during my sleep!
The engine should be ready for assembly. Someone gave me the "o" rings for the bottom of the sleeves.
It sure gets lonley living in a quite house.
My first rent is due on the first. I have been living here about three months.
I am getting good at cooking because my Son comes over every weekend and consumes everything I cook.
House cleaning is easy with just me. I just don't mess anything up.
My bed. Sweet dreams.
