She is pretty nice. But not as nice as she looks in this picture. I have already taken off the ugly luggage rack and rear fender. Hey someone put progressive rear shocks on her..bonus! Maybe electronic ignition! And here is the plan.
Bob it, lower handlebars, fix front light and gauges (they are bent a little), new rear tire, cut seat down into solo, clean carbs, clean her all up and give her a paint job.
Simple right? I'd also like to get all the frame bearings replaced and maybe wheel bearings too. Just going to touch up the frame where it needs it right now. AND going to clean electrical connectors. Fork seals look good right now but I don't know if there is any air in them. I'd like to get a balancing system.
We'll see. I'm shooting at June 1st as a deadline as I have a 77 KZ650 Greenie I want to restore.
It's a start anyway. If there seems to be some interest I'll try and document it with pictures as I go.
Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

Sicma I like it. Them's some flat bars alright. There is something a little caveman in bobbers. Primeval may be a better word. I'll be watching sicma.

Just wish the weather would cooperate a little more. Warmer, less work, computer time and more wrenching time. But it will get done.

We have a bunch of seats were to play with and one is a KZ650 double bucket. I placed it on the csr and played with it in photoshop. I kind of liked how it looked but hated how it felt. Comfy but locks you into place too much for me. It also looks like it needs a saddle horn and a rope. But I figure I'll just put up the pic for your viewing pleasure.

I put a set of B1 bars on her and I like them. Now I got to get the headlight and gauges straightened out. New bracket should fix the light and it looks like the gauges are pretty manipulable. Just bend them right. Then it will be seat and frame. Back light, plate holder and directionals. Clean electrical and carbs. Then paint.
So anyone know why you should bypass the smog? Mileage, performance or looks? Buehler ...... Buehler .....
How about what does CSR stand for? My friend Chris says I should change it to CRS for Can't Remember Shit. But I told him it would mean Chris Really Sucks. Anyone know the real answer?
