1978 KZ1000-A from parts to victory!!!

Hi everyone. I got lucky and found a craigslist listing that said free motorcycle parts. in the picture posted was a front tire, forks, and the motor. I was just intrested in the motor until he told me he has the whole bike but it was in pieces. I went over and picked it all up. He gave me an old tag from 2006 and the title to the bike. FOR FREE!!!!

I got it all home and my roomate, (a Harley owner), said i did good. I think the only thing missing was the tail light.
I made room in the garage and looked at what i had. These pics were taken yesterday.......

swing arm, headers, and wiring harneses. the guy even labeled all the wire harnesses and bolts.

Why did he take it apart? Now the fun begins in re-assembling it.

so tomm i am going to pick up some packing grease and my roomate and i are going to start getting her back together. once we know she runs, and is what we hope. she will come apart and then we can make her pretty. thanks for having this site. it is a great forum.

he said he had it apart 3 times to paint. trust me, i asked him because i didnt want a head ache.lol. yes, the fun does begin.
