- Whats that? Half of my swingarm is missing?!?!?
Whats the concensus on tranny bearing replacement? Is there a reliable way to check my bearings for wear, or should I just replace them since they have 80K+ miles on them? If everything is ok with my tranny and my crank shows up in decent condition, then it'll be time to do a final cleaning of my cases (gotta make sure there is no media blasting residue left anywhere) and assemble the bottom end. I spent some time today smoothing a few welds, and going over a few more with the tig torch. My argon tank is down to about 100 psi, so a refill is due. I'm pretty sure I have a small leak in my regulator, as I seem to loose argon if I don't shut off the tank valve  I'm happy that I have a welder that works, and I'm glad the company works to correct any issues I have, but damn! I'm getting a little tired of getting things fixed/replaced. Onward.....I need to finish the rear motor mount gussets that I had to modify, and I want to make some reinforcing panels for the top and bottom shock mounts....you know, some lateral shear strength never hurt anyone After that, I'll disassemble the roller, strip the frame and paint it. One thing at a time though, finish the frame welding

adam ever since i had to replace a broken output shaft bearing,i think i would replace at least the output shaft bearing and as many of the others as i could afford.the bearing on the back of the basket is a double roller and probably last forever in a street bike.the other two are not stressed as much so probably don't wear to bad.i guess you can go with dollars or luck which one do you feel best about .

X2 id replace the output shaft bearing for sure. after 80,000 i would suspect them all.

While I still need to donate $140 to my aging tranny, a battery is my next purchase to that I cam make the box and more importantly, the mounts in the subframe. That way I can finish up any welding and get it painted.

I suppose if I realy wanted to, I could spend another $80 on the bushings for the little needle bearings. Do those things ever wear out?
